The Goal:
The goal was to make opening a box of chocolate more memorable by turning the packaging itself into part of the experience.

The Challenge:
The project began with a very rough idea: I wanted the packaging to do something unexpected when opened. This eventually evolved into the idea of making the chocolate bars “hop” out of the box. The challenge was turning this movement into a simple and reliable mechanism. Since the entire package had to be made from paper and cardboard, the movement had to come from the structure and folds of the packaging itself. Through numerous rough prototypes, I tested different folds and mechanisms until I found a simple, reliable solution.

The Result
The final mechanism makes the chocolates rise and fall into a wave as the box is opened and closed. During testing, users repeatedly opened and closed the package simply to trigger the movement again, turning the unboxing mechanism into a satisfying fidget-like interaction.
